Title: Keepon
Wow. Is this a snowman? And it’s a yellow one? You are half correct. It’s a robot that is just like a yellow miniature of snowman. This cute little mouth less snowman is called Keepon.
Keepon has eyes with colour CCD camera, a nose with a microphone and a body which is manipulated like a marionette. Keepon’s body is made of silicone rubber and it’s kind of hollow in the inside, which is able to deform whenever it moves or someone touches it.
Keepon gives eye contact by using method like detecting the faces. But Keepon is not a toy! Its main role is to interact with children especially children with developmental disorders, including autism. I will post some videos on Keepon dancing on my coming post. Stay tuned!
